Understanding the richness of the culture and the fact that the Simiyu festival upholds the life of the indigenous people of the region, the STC has since 2017 decided to use this festival as a platform to communicate some of the socio-economic development and health issues.. With this festival we will have the following major activities:-

The festival event will be having different theme according the environment need, theme like heath activities, infrastructure development and education matters.

The 2017 festival was famously named ‘Simiyu Jambo Festival’ was conducted in August, added more flavour to the ngoma by including different sports and events. These included 200 km for men, 100 Km for women and 5 km for disabled people cycling, traditional food competition, and development and dissemination of promotion and education materials. The festival was graced by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Tulia Ackson Mwansasu. Apart from the people of Simiyu, other attendees included Geita, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, Kagera and Arusha regions.

The 2018 festival was named again as Simiyu Jambo Festival and was conducted in July added more flavour to the ngoma by including different sports and events. These included 150 km for men, 100 Km for women and 5 km for disabled people cycling, traditional dance competition, academic competition. The festival was graced by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Tulia Ackson Mwansasu. Apart from the people from Simiyu, other attendees included Geita, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, Kagera ,Arusha regions and neighbouring country Kenya The festival held a Theme:“Towards Industrialised Tanzania: Improving Quality Reproductive Health Services in Simiyu.
